I began my creative journey many years ago. Before the internet even existed! And when it was still new, I was one of the first to make my own website. Back in the day it was all about Blogs and Forums! Where people who enjoyed the same things could meet and share their lives. It was a good time. A golden age of the internet, and sadly lost in amongst the algorithms', 'content' creators', sponsored posts, and now the AI of modern day internet. Back in the early 2000's it was all about 'connection' and the 'social' in social media actually meant something. I was an artist back then, living in Cornwall. I had a website, and online shops at Etsy & Folksy, and so many online friends all doing the same thing. Creators of art, hand made goods, jewellery designers, writers... you name it. The internet was a true community. Some of us are still around to lament the passing of the old internet days to new, and whilst my earlier 'Fantasy art' is no longer online, (with the exception of a few pieces on my art website) I do still have a website dedicated to my later artworks. They became more abstract, and I worked with gold and copper leaf to create landscapes or portraits that would capture an emotion or a scene from an untold story.
They can be found here...
"For me, the spark of inspiration is within the quietly sleeping earth beneath our feet, in the trees that stand guard over the wild places, and the unseen realm of the 'otherworld' where dark and strange stories merge to spill over into our universe."
I hope one day to create more, but in recent years I've been focusing on writing, and that takes all my brain power! I always loved making a piece of art that looked as though it were a snapshot from a story. I never really knew what that story was, or how the person got there, but eventually I wanted to explore those stories in more depth. And so I began to write...
