And what a month it's been! I've received some incredible support, from incredible people - many friends and family, but also strangers, which I am surprised by. As a self published author with zero following I did not expect this first book to attract much attention, and in the great scheme of things (in the publishing world), it hasn't. But to me it's been both enlightening, and heartwarming. And every message, every share, and every review left means more than words could say! (Except THANK YOU!)

Writing a book isn't easy. Not that I ever thought it would be, but until you begin, you don't realise just how much thought and planning needs to go into it. I've spent the last few years writing, re-writing, reading endless tutorial websites and then starting from scratch and trying another process. I'm still no closer to completing the book that began this journey, (an epic fantasy novel based on Skyrim!) but maybe one day I'll get back to it.

As an artist I didn't worry too much about putting art 'out there'. I was never scared of what others might think of it. In fact, not much does scare me... except letting other people read what I've written! It's the scariest thing I've ever done. (And I've done more than a few things in my life...)

Maybe it feels more personal, because it's my thoughts in word form rather than the symbolic medium of painting, but it took a lot for me to be ready to send something out to people I knew, to read. And I am still shocked when people tell me they love it!

I also work with my Husband (in the production side of things) on a paranormal tv show called 'LOST SOULS'. We have recently been filming for Season 2, and have spent nights in some of the most haunted and infamous locations in the UK. Including 30 East Drive, Pontefract. Also known as the black monk house. Regarded by some to have been the scene of the most terrifying poltergeist activity in Europe.

While others were running for the hills, I couldn't wait to sit in a room by myself and see what happened! lol. My husband and I slept the entire night on the lounge floor - and believe me when I tell you, I would still find it less scary to face down any ghost or poltergeist than publish a book and let complete strangers read it.

I've also been writing and editing some of the short stories that I hope to publish this Summer in my anthology called 'MADE OF EARTH AND SEA - Tales from beyond'.

More on that one nearer the time... but it will be a collection of strange and wonderful tales from mermaids and stone circles, to a ghostly love story and a re-visit (for those who've read 'The House On The Crossroads') to Cornwall and our favorite crossroads demon.

My current novella is now, for a time, available to download on KINDLE UNLIMITED. So if you're a subscriber and you've not yet purchased a copy, please do read it. And hopefully you'll enjoy it and leave me a star rating and a fabulous review on Amazon because that helps me so much when it comes to being seen or recommended in listings! And then don't forget to tell your friends!
